Posted by K. Van Gogh On Friday, November 26, 2010 0 comments

Not sure who takes the #comeonson award this week. Kim or Fab for that White & Navy leak. After listening to this twice, Kim is looking like the front-runner.

Full track (unfortunately) gets released on Tuesday.

UPDATE: Tagless, CDQ version is in and the download is below. Eh. Free Splash.

M.I.A. Taking Shots At Lady Gaga x Speaks on New Album

Posted by Deal Wit It On Thursday, April 08, 2010 0 comments

Shout out to M.I.A., who also has an album dropping this summer, for keeping it real. I thought I was the only one that peeped the advertisement plugs in the new Gaga video. But I'm going to let the big homie tell it as only M.I.A. can:

Do we still need record labels?
Are they even interested in making money from music anymore? Lady Gaga plugs 15 things in her new video. Dude, she even plugs a burger! That’s probably how they’re making money right now - buying up the burger joint, putting the burger in a music video and making loads of burger money.

Do you think those programmes and the internet have destroyed the mythology around popstars?
I don’t know. Again, there’s Lady Gaga - people say we’re similar, that we both mix all these things in the pot and spit them out differently, but she spits it out exactly the same! None of her music’s reflective of how weird she wants to be or thinks she is. She models herself on Grace Jones and Madonna, but the music sounds like 20-year-old Ibiza music, you know? She’s not progressive, but she’s a good mimic. She sounds more like me than I fucking do! That’s a talent and she’s got a great team behind her, but she’s the industry last stab at making itself important - saying, ‘You need our money behind you, the endorsements, the stadiums’ Respect to her, she’s keeping a hundred thousand people in work, but my belief is: Do It Yourself.

How important are image and visuals to your music?

Very. But it’s not like “Haus of Gaga” (laughs). Me blindfolded with naked men feeding me apples and shit.

Would you ever make a record for a Twilight soundtrack?

They asked me. Luckily Jimmy [Iovine, chairmen of M.I.A.’s US label Interscope] had beef with the Twilight people, so he stepped in and told them to fuck off.

Via Perez Hilton

I wonder what she's going to say when she sees the Rihanna "Rude Boy" video?

Here's Beans going at Hov once more. Shawn Carter haters, please note that this isn't the same Beanie Sigel that went against Kiss. This =/= This, not in the least bit. I think dude needs to stop because Hov won't respond (Dude has Obama on the text, why respond to Beans?). But hey, it is what it is... Enjoy.

Note: Video doesnt start right away.

I'm still in shock over all of this. I seen a lot of people turn on Hov in these last couple of days.

Kay Slay premiered this joint on Hot 97 and NahRight got the radio rip. That last verse is where he gets to it. Hov just said they spoke when Beans grandmother passed, this is wild. UPDATE: Beans speaks on situation this morning. (via RTNY)

Last night was the Powerhouse show in Philly, with Jay-Z the headliner, Trey Songz for the ladies and more….but before that D-Block tore it down just like they did the Nahright/Onsmash show earlier this week. This time they had my boy Sheek Louch with them. I happen to think they put on one of the top hip hop stage shows in the biz. Anyways, at the end of their set, Beanie Sigel jumped out to the surprise of his hometown crowd. He performed, “In the Air” and then…according to multiple sources….Beans started spitting his own a-capella version of Jay-Z’s Blueprint 3 intro. In the original rhyme, Hov says, “Grown men, they want me to sit them on my lap. But I ain’t got no beard and Santa Claus ain’t black” Beanie alluded to that by saying that he’s not on Santa’s sack and that Santa can’t come in his house…and capped it off with a few “I run this town“s.

Maybe it’s was all about hometown pride, or maybe he just did it because he loved that Blueprint 3 intro….Not sure. The intent of the freestyle is debatable. The feelings it left, less so. But it wasn’t accidental because, reportedly, Beans repeated the same verse after the show as well.

Thats wild seeing that Kiss is on Rocafella right now. More info over here (see what I did there?).

Kanye West's Apology To Taylor Swift

Posted by Cris Copastetik On Monday, September 14, 2009 0 comments

Yeezy had Twitter in a frenzy over his stunt. All I can say about it is, it was for Beyonce and I'd probably do even crazier things for Bey and I dont even know her. In all seriousness, he may have been right for his opinion but wrong for his action and he seemed to have been drunk anyway.. After all of this, he went home (cause he got kicked out) and apologized via blog:

I’M SOOOOO SORRY TO TAYLOR SWIFT AND HER FANS AND HER MOM. I SPOKE TO HER MOTHER RIGHT AFTER AND SHE SAID THE SAME THING MY MOTHER WOULD’VE SAID. SHE IS VERY TALENTED! I LIKE THE LYRICS ABOUT BEING A CHEERLEADER AND SHE’S IN THE BLEACHERS! …………………… I’M IN THE WRONG FOR GOING ON STAGE AND TAKING AWAY FROM HER MOMENT!…………….. BEYONCE’S VIDEO WAS THE BEST OF THIS DECADE!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FANS IF I LET YOU GUYS DOWN!!!! I’M SORRY TO MY FRIENDS AT MTV. I WILL APOLOGIZE TO TAYLOR 2MRW. WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD!!!! EVERYBODY WANNA BOOOOO ME BUT I’M A FAN OF REAL POP CULTURE!!! NO DISRESPECT BUT WE WATCHIN’ THE SHOW AT THE CRIB RIGHT NOW CAUSE … WELL YOU KNOW!!!! I’M STILL HAPPY FOR TAYLOR!!!! BOOOYAAAWWWW!!!! YOU ARE VERY VERY TALENTED!!! I GAVE MY AWARDS TO OUTKAST WHEN THEY DESERVED IT OVER ME… THAT’S WHAT IT IS!!!!!!! I’M NOT CRAZY YALL, I’M JUST REAL. SORRY FOR THAT!!! I REALLY FEEL BAD FOR TAYLOR AND I’M SINCERELY SORRY!!! MUCH RESPECT!!!!!

Is it enough?

VMA Highlights!!

This year's VMAs was crazy and sadly I missed a lot of it since I was at work but I compiled the best moments of the show. Including Kanye's hardcore disrespect of poor Taylor Swift. And the tribute to Micheal Jackson.
