"May the force be with you ... Babylon Cartel"

Entertained by and a lover of anything expressive and emotionally charged. We here at DWND are lovers of music, art, fashion, and anything that has the power to move you as while your standing still.

Gianni Lee, a naturally born artist from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. 24 years strong, living where the days are short and the nights are long.

“I am a Jedi and have been practicing manipulating the force for sometime now.”

Babylon Cartel. The brand. The lifestyle. The revolution. With plans of taking his art to Europe, Asia and the rest of the galaxy in hopes of transforming everyone into followers of the Babylon.

Babylon Cartel a brand that allows you to see into the future and become apart of it.

Inspirations? Gianni Lee called it his “aspiration.” Having hopes and ambition to achieving and becoming something great in life. Inspired to becoming an international fashion, art and media mogul. First inspired, when he enrolled into the High school for Architecture and design. Growing up his dreams were bigger than those around him, he had a different outlook on life. His outlook was wanting to make something of it.

Inspired by other designers such as entrepreneur and co-founder of the clothing brands Billionaire Boys Club and Cream Clothing, using the word “creative” for Pharrell Williams falls short of what he is. Pharrell is a major inspiration for Gianni. Like Pharrell, Gianni would like to make his own lane and put his drive into full force. Motivated, driven and invested 100% into his brand.

Gianni Lee, a designer and a great individual who enjoys making connections with people and believes that using art is one of the best forms of expression. Wanting to turn his success into an organization that gives back to the disadvantaged so that they never lose sight of their dreams and wanting to infuse so much more into a world that is heavily dependent on Technology. I believe in Babylon Cartel and Gianni Lee, as should you.

Gianni Lee, "Shoutout to God" #swag.

Make sure to follow @GianniLee and visit Babylon Cartel.

May the force be with you.

How fond is your love for Jordan? : Jordan Depot x DWND

Who’s the greatest basketball player ever? That question will always be a debate in sports that will end with one answer. Michael Jordan.

The Air Jordans an instant classic. The sneakers have as much history as Jordan himself. Fresh, innovative and unprecedented, Jordan never fails to amaze us with new color ways and great products.

In 1985, the Air Jordan 1’s changed the sneaker game forever. People from all over the world with different journeys obsess over JORDANS.

The Bordeaux VII’s have recently been released and with that great release came a wonderful set of t-shirts from our friends over at JordanDepot.

The “Deauxboys" and "Deauxgirls" t-shirts for male and female. The perfect shirt for the Bordeaux XII’s. Black. Light Graphite-Bordeaux. Effortless. Fashionable. Trendy. Timeless. Just like Jordan.

Limos & Liquor: “...every shirt was born in my head.”

Posted by Caramel Cocaine On Wednesday, September 29, 2010 0 comments

So my fellow DWND’r brought “Limos & Liquor” to my attention and I’m super glad that he did. This is an up and coming clothing line out of Pittsburgh, PA. I am a female, but I just have a thing for men's T-shirts. I guess because they're always cooler. Okay back to the clothing line. I always seem to fall in love with the concept behind clothing, because it always makes a piece unique and wearable. And yes you can say I’m a bit head over heels for these shirts. The name itself “Limos & Liquor” grabbed my attention because it isn’t something you’d typically see. However, it is the lifestyle we all dream of, the fast life, the flashy one, a celebrity lifestyle so to speak. We dream of the limos and the liquor. We want that lifestyle so I feel that with “Limos & Liquor” we’re getting what we want in a sense, even if we’re just dreaming a bit.

I was very intrigued because this line just fits in with this whole ideology of our society. Even if we don’t admit it, we all somehow think we’re little “mini-celebs”, so why not portray that image with these shirts.

So I had a few questions for the designer ...

My first question was, “What made you want to start designing?”

And Benny B. (yup, that’s his name) response to me was, “I actually don’t design anything myself...”

Who would think you can get a wrong answer from an interview? However, he definitely gave me the wrong answer though. I feel you are a designer. If anyone is able to create a concept in there head and have the same idea depicted and put on a piece of clothing YOU ARE A DESIGNER.

For the first season the inspiration according to the designer are “all a play on words off the brand name.” For the next few seasons, they're planning on expanding the line. They will also be creating and putting designs onto sweaters, hats, jeans and even starting a more sophisticated look as well.

“The inspiration comes from whatever pops into my head and what I think others will enjoy and wear.”

What I’m looking forward to seeing from this brand are the videos that they will soon be creating for these pieces.

“We feel that clothing and music go hand and hand so we really want to tie the 2 together, building a more powerful image around the design and our brand.”

After learning that little piece of information, I definitely fell in love.

“Dreams are better awake”, so wake up and get a shirt.
