His work is about juxtaposition, mixing opposites, and colliding worlds. Its the renaissance meeting the modern world. Classical becoming grimy. It’s mixing guns, and darkness with opera houses.

It has been said that every artist dips their brush into their own soul to depict the nature of their mind into an image others will appreciate. And I believe Jay West does just that with his pieces.
Life is his biggest inspiration. Motivated by fast cars that will get him a speeding tickets.
His own mind races with creative power that waits to be released. His creativity like an 800 horse powered Cobra. 800 horses galloping beneath the hood of his brain ready to roar like the ignition of a car being started.
Renaissance art is Jay West’s biggest fascination of art. Period. He’s inspired by Michelangelo, the oppression in the inner cities of America, underdogs, wolves and the unseen energies of the cosmos.
“I see myself being the youngest Contemporary Artist since Basquiat did it!! As big as Koons, and Hirst ... just half their ages. Collaborations down the list under my belt, and the producer of a movie I want all my artwork to culminate into.”
